The Farthings is a charming Victorian family residence built in 1895. Each room has been individually decorated and furnished to match its character. Visit England have rated us as a 4 star guest house. We offer the highest quality of bed and breakfast (B&B) facilities in York. Our award winning bed and breakfast guest house is also recognised by the Yorkshire tourist board.

Some rooms have en-suite shower and toilet and some have a shared bathroom. All rooms are centrally heated with tea & coffee making facilities, satellite colour TV and clock radios.

To help you start your day there is a wide ranging menu of full English breakfast, fruit basket, yoghurts and croissants. Vegetarians catered for. We hold a Visit England breakfast award.

The Farthings is ideally situated in a quiet cul-de-sac on the South West corner of the City, a 5 minute walk to the famous walls and approximately 7 to 10 minute walk to the City centre and Train Station. We are always willing and available to help you plan your itinerary and we maintain a large selection of tourist information leaflets to help you get the most out of your visit.
